Privacy Policy
Last updated 18 September 2026. This policy covers this website and The Landing, the mobile app we provide free of charge to people in the first ninety days after treatment.
We have written it to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, write to privacy@globalrecoverywellness.com and we will explain it in plain words.
Who we are
Global Recovery & Wellness provides recovery coaching, detox coordination, intervention, case management and safe passage services. We are based in Orange County, California, and work with clients worldwide.
We are not a treatment facility, a medical provider or a licensed clinical program. Our coaches provide coaching, structure and connection alongside whatever clinical care a person is receiving elsewhere.
Who publishes The Landing, and who is responsible for your information
You may notice that The Landing is listed on the App Store and Google Play by Naybrs, Inc. rather than by Global Recovery & Wellness. We would rather explain that here than have you find it and wonder.
Global Recovery & Wellness Inc operates The Landing and is responsible for your information. We decide what is collected, we hold it, and every commitment on this page is ours. The coaches who read your check-ins work for us.
Naybrs, Inc. is an affiliated company under the same ownership, and its developer accounts are being used to publish the app while Global Recovery & Wellness Inc completes the business verification the app stores require of a new company. That verification is in progress.
When it finishes, the app transfers to Global Recovery & Wellness Inc’s own developer accounts. That is a supported process on both stores, and it changes only whose name appears on the listing. It does not change who holds your information, how it is handled, or anything else in this policy. You will not need to do anything, and the app on your phone will not change.
Because the app stores attach some declarations to the publishing account rather than to the app, some store-facing information appears under Naybrs, Inc. until that transfer completes. Your information is held and handled by Global Recovery & Wellness Inc throughout, and is not used for any Naybrs product or purpose.
The Landing app: what it collects
The Landing is free for ninety days after someone leaves treatment. A referring organization — a treatment center, an attorney, a psychologist, a psychiatrist or a therapist — invites a person by sending their first name and mobile number, with that person’s written consent.
Your phone number. It is how you sign in; there is no password. We send a one-time code to it.
Your first name only. We do not ask for a surname, an address, a date of birth or an identity document.
Your daily check-in. Four sliders — mood, craving, sleep and connection — and a score derived from them. Sometimes a short set of standard questions instead. This is health information, and we treat it as such.
An optional video or voice recording of up to sixty seconds, if you choose to record one. See the section below.
Messages between you and your coach, and the record of when you tapped for help.
When you checked in and when you skipped. Your streak and the quiet-day prompt are worked out from these.
A notification token from Apple or Google, so we can send you a reminder. It identifies a device, not a person.
An email address, only if you are a coach or a partner signing in to the professional side of the app. People in the program never give us one.
What the app does not collect
No location, ever. There is no location permission in the app and no field to store one.
No access to your contacts. The people in your Family Circle are typed in by you.
No access to your photo library. The camera is used to record a check-in and nothing else.
No payment or financial information. The ninety days are free.
No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier and no advertising of any kind. There is no third-party tracking software in the app. This is checked automatically every time the app is built, and the build fails if any appears.
Video and voice recordings
Recording is optional. You can complete a check-in with the sliders alone, with voice only, or by choosing not to record at all, and none of those choices is treated as a missed day.
The one exception is a court-involved arrangement, where a referring organization has agreed a verified check-in with you in advance. If that applies to you, the app says so plainly before you record anything.
A recording is seen by a Global Recovery & Wellness coach. It is never sent to your referring organization, never shown to anyone in your Family Circle, and never used for anything other than your own support.
Recordings are deleted automatically ninety days after they are made.
What your referring organization can see
If you turn sharing on, the organization that referred you sees only this: your first name, which milestones you have reached — joined, day 7, day 30, day 60, day 90, graduated — and one activity signal, which is active this week or quiet. Nothing finer than that: no dates, no times, no counts.
They never see your answers, your scores, your recordings, your questionnaire results, your conversations with a coach, or anything a coach has concluded about you.
Sharing is off from the moment you enroll. You turn it on yourself, from your own phone, and you can turn it off again at any time. Their view is worked out fresh each time they load it, so switching it off takes effect on their next look.
Someone who has revoked sharing looks exactly like someone who never shared: the same row, the same wording, and no notice that anything changed. That is deliberate. If the two could be told apart, the decision would not be a free one.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We have never done so.
We pay no referral fees and we accept none. Nothing of value moves in either direction for a referral.
We use a small number of service providers to run the service — cloud hosting, message delivery and error-free operation of the app. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.
We will disclose information if the law compels us, and we will tell you unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
How long we keep things
Recordings are deleted ninety days after they are made.
Check-ins and the rest of your health information are kept while you are in the program and afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them.
When you ask us to delete your account, your health information is erased forty-five days later. We keep a minimal record that an account existed and that your deletion request was honored, because that record is the proof we did what you asked.
Signing in during those forty-five days cancels the deletion and brings everything back. We chose forty-five days because it is also the period California law allows for responding to a deletion request, so there is one date rather than two.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app, at any time. No email, no form, no waiting for a human.
If you have already uninstalled the app, you can do the same thing on the web at globalrecoverywellness.com/delete-account/. It asks for your mobile number and the code we text you — the same check the app makes — and then deletes your account.
We verify it is you before deleting anything. Any other approach would let a stranger erase someone else’s account by typing their number.
Federal confidentiality of substance use disorder records
Information identifying a person as having a substance use disorder is protected by federal law. Where 42 CFR Part 2 applies to information we hold, we handle it accordingly: we do not disclose it without written consent except as those regulations permit, and a general authorization for the release of medical or other information is not sufficient.
Federal law and regulations do not protect any information about a crime committed by a patient, or about a threat to commit such a crime, and do not protect a report of suspected child abuse or neglect made to appropriate state or local authorities.
The consent a person signs before being referred to The Landing names exactly what is shared and with whom, and it can be withdrawn at any time from inside the app.
Your rights in California
If you live in California you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you and where it came from, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. You also have the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
The app already gives you deletion without asking anyone. For the others, write to privacy@globalrecoverywellness.com and we will respond within the period the law allows.
We will ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request about your information, for the same reason we verify before deleting.
If you are in crisis
The Landing is not an emergency service and is not monitored around the clock. Crisis resources, including 988, are on screen at all times inside the app.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911. If you need someone now, call or text 988, at any hour.
Security
Everything is encrypted in transit. Our database and our file storage refuse unencrypted connections outright rather than permitting them.
Access to the systems holding this information is limited to the people who need it to provide the service. Every access a coach makes to a person’s recordings requires that they are actively dealing with that person, not merely that they are a coach.
We have not commissioned an independent security audit. We would rather say so than imply one exists.
Children
The Landing is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, write to privacy@globalrecoverywellness.com and we will delete it.
This website
Personal data is only stored when you give it to us for a purpose you can see — an enquiry form, a consultation request, or a coach application. It is not disclosed to third parties without your consent.
Any phone number you give us through this site is used to contact you about your enquiry. By providing one you agree that we and our agents may call or text you at that number, including by automated means, about the service you asked about. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, and HELP for help. Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of any purchase.
We do not run advertising trackers or sell website visitor data.
